“Lynx” is a colored pencil drawing, hand drawn with Caran d’Ache permanent pencils and graphite (for the background) on an A3 smooth drawing paper.
This drawing took me about 45 hours of work to complete.
This was my first time drawing fur, it takes a lot of work (hence why my custom pet/animal portraits are more pricey). These members of the cat family are beautiful wild creatures. Unfortunately certain lynx species, namely the Iberian, are considered endangered species. The name lynx comes from the Greek word leukos, which means bright. It is believed that they got that name because of the way their eyes shine in the light.
